Three days. Four companies. One final. And teams that showed that you can really create something impressive in a short time.
After three days of building, testing, and refining, the teams presented their solutions to Gasunie, Resato Hydrogen Technology, pHYnix, and RWE. Four parties that bring hydrogen closer to practice every day.
Team Under Pressure won with a design for Gasunie: a 200-kilometer-long hydrogen pipeline from the North Sea to Eemshaven. Technically strong, ecologically sound, and simply feasible. Not bad for three days' work.
Team Reesauto created something for Resato Hydrogen Technology that you rarely see: a setup that allows children to literally feel air pressure through small tubes. An abstract concept, suddenly very tangible. The team name stuck with me too, let's be honest.
Team Veiligheids Stoplicht designed a system for pHYnix that immediately shows whether a space is safe to enter. And for situations where that is not possible? A VR module so that people can still learn from the installation and the environment.
Team AI Data Servers ultimately walked away with the overall win. Their idea for RWE: building data centers inside wind turbines. Utilizing surplus power more intelligently, achieving a better return than feeding back into the grid. Creative, well-substantiated, and immediately applicable.
What made this edition so strong was the combination of substance, pace, and boldness. Participants stepped into a sector that is in constant flux, sat at the table with companies you wouldn't normally just walk into, and learned how to go from an open question to a pitch-worthy solution. They worked on things that didn't exist yet, tested ideas on experts, and stood on a stage three days later to defend them.
They started with ambition. They leave with experience that sticks, new technical knowledge, and a much clearer picture of how they themselves can make a difference in the world of tomorrow.
